Dynamic trio TLC took home the GRAMMY for Best R&B Album for their third studio album, Fanmail, at the first GRAMMY Awards of the new millennium. Facing competition from Mary J. Blige, Whitney Houston, R. Kelly, and Brian McKnight, TLC emerged victorious for their work on the album that delivered influential R&B anthems including "No Scrubs" and "Unpretty."
Presented by David Duchovney and Jennifer Lopez in the iconic Versace dress, Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas joined her fellow group members and producer Dallas Austin on stage to thank God, their producers, managers, Clive Davis, family, and fans.
