Watch Girl Ultra Reveal Her Cherished Fender Guitar | It Goes To 11

Driven by her vision of a gritty, raw, sound, Mexican singer/songwriter Girl Ultra chose a Fender Gold Foil Jazzmaster. A fan of goth culture and shoegaze, she connects this guitar with icons like Radiohead’s Thom Yorke and The Cure’s Robert Smith.

Girl Ultra recalls visiting Fender’s office, where she discovered the metallic-finish guitar, once used by Beyoncé’s team. She knew instantly that it was the one, calling it a moment of fate. “An instrument becomes a limb of yours,” she shares. “And when you accept it and adopt it as yours, there’s a responsibility to play it better.” For more episodes of It Goes To 11, visit GRAMMY.com/videos.
