With little advance notice last week, The Weeknd snuck out a six-song mini-album called My Dear Melancholy. Now, the release has landed at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, scoring the GRAMMY winner his third straight chart-topping release. Previously, 2016's Starboy and 2015's Beauty Behind The Madness both made it to the top spot.

The Canadian singer posted a cryptic tease on Instagram on March 27 then confirmed the album release two days later. My Dear Melancholy's lead-off track, "Call Out My Name," showcases The Weeknd's signature sparse rhythms, soaring melodies, soulful adlibs, and heavily effected vocal breaks.
At just six tracks, the album comes in stark contrast to its chart contemporaries such as Migos sprawling Culture II with 24 songs and XXXTentacion's ? with 18. In fact, My Dear Melancholy is the shortest album, in terms of track count, to top the Billboard 200 in eight years since the six-song Glee: The Music, Journey To Regionals soundtrack hit No. 1 in 2010.
As The Weeknd gears up for his highly anticipated appearance at Coachella this weekend, we await to see where "Call Out My Name" will land on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart on April 14.
