In his latest EP, The Hearse, up-and-coming singer/songwriter Matt Maeson battles himself, in what he calls a conversation with his "self-destructive side and his good side."

"Pretty much every song on that EP is just a conversation between those two," he told the Recording Academy.

While Maeson, who released his first EP Who Killed Matt Maeson in 2017, is still a rising artist, his music reflects a lot of the growth he's had so far. His latest EP is all about evolving.

"Who Killed Matt Maeson was just about me turning into an adult and the things I had to kinda let die and the things I needed to do to become who I wanted to be," he explained.

Maeson, who has been hands-on with his music videos too, gets into what he loves about turning his songs into music videos:

"I've always been really, really into film and so I've watched so, so many of them and I love going about explaining a story with visuals and different objects and having a cohesive story over the span of different videos."
