Little Big Town couldn't be more excited to help pay tribute to Elton John on next month's TV concert special "Elton John: I'm Still Standing — A GRAMMY Tribute."
The band was chosen to sing "Rocket Man," from John's acclaimed 1972 album Honky Château. They also cover the song as the opening track on Restoration, one of a pair of cover albums tackling the biggest hits from John and his longtime lyricist Bernie Taupin's extensive songbook.
"Elton John is the soundtrack to everyone's life," says Little Big Town's Jimi Westbrook.
"We're so fortunate and lucky to be asked to sing a song on the record," adds Karen Fairchild. "We made this version of 'Rocket Man' that we really wanted Bernie and Elton to be proud of…they both love it, and that meant everything to us."
"Elton John: I'm Still Standing — A GRAMMY Salute" will air on CBS on April 10 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
