We have lost an extraordinary friend, member, and music maker too soon," President/CEO of the Latin Recording Academy Gabriel Abaroa Jr. said in a statement. "His music, craft, and legacy will live on through his work, the lives he touched, and the creators he inspired. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife and daughter along with his countless friends during this difficult time."

"Besides being an amazing musician and colleague, he was an amazing human being," shared Recording Academy Florida Chapter Board President Doug Emery and National Trustee Lee Levin. "I am so fortunate to have called him my friend and brother. The world is definitely a better place because Dan Warner was in it, and our loss leaves a gaping hole that will never be filled. My heart is broken right now but I will forever be grateful that I had the time I had with him."
