About Janis Ian
"I wrote my first song at 12, was published at 13, made a record at 14, had a hit at 15, and was a has-been at 16. So, 'At Seventeen' means more to me than you can know."

- Ian was just a teenager when she released her first hit single, "Society's Child (Baby I've Been Thinking)," which reached No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100. Her biggest hit, "At Seventeen" (No. 3), was featured on her 1975 studio album, Between The Lines, which topped the Billboard 200.
- At the 18th GRAMMY Awards, Ian won her first GRAMMY for Best Pop Vocal Performance, Female for "At Seventeen." That same year, she performed the song during her GRAMMY stage debut.
