Born Christopher Francis Ocean on Oct. 28, 1987, in Long Beach, California
Frank Ocean's debut solo album, 2012's Channel Orange, hit No. 2 on the Billboard 200. The album's debut single, "Thinkin Bout You," was his first to crack the Top 40, peaking at No. 32.
At the 55th GRAMMY Awards in 2012, Ocean earned his first career GRAMMYs for Best Urban Contemporary Album (Channel Orange) and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration ("No Church In The Wild," with The-Dream, Jay Z and Kanye West).
Ocean studied at University of Louisiana at Lafayette for one semester in fall 2005. Thereafter, he dedicated himself to a career in music.
